The root of the problem

Just came across a site on "the importance of money" and realised that the trouble begins very early.

Teaching Children the Importance of Money. By Michael G. Peterson:

"Children seem to be born with an insatiable desire to spend. Whether it’s Christmas, birthday parties, or a trip to the local mall, children are never too shy when it comes to vocalizing their wants. And sometimes, they’re relentless."

I'm not interested in what the paragraph says (it actually does get into what the author wants to say). It's the title that interests me. In our endeavour to teach children the importance of money, we do exactly that - we teach them how important it is and we must makes loads of it to be happy. Sad.
